Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin. Its sequence is commonly reported as Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro. Preclinical research has examined effects on GABAergic signaling, neurotrophic-factor expression, monoamine-related pathways, stress-response behavior, and immune-neural communication. Much of the published literature originates from Russian research programs, and the quantity and geographic breadth of controlled human evidence are limited. U.S. regulatory approval has not been established.
